It would seem at least one spammer has been spoofing my domain name, judging from the 1348 "failed delivery" returned emails that have popped up in the last couple of hours while I was away from the computer. Very festive of them......

So depending on how long this lasts there is a very good chance that if you email me legitimately over the coming days that it won't necessarily get through. Keep an eye on this blog, and I'll let you know when things seem normal again.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!

This will be my last post for a few days (sorry it's been quiet for the last few days, but the blog tried to take an early holiday and I couldn't post), but you'll hear from me again in the New Year. In the meantime, have you checked out the sitemap? There's a direct link to every page on the site there, perhaps there's an area you haven't yet explored.

I'm still tinkering away on a new look for the site for the new year. That's all to report really, apart from that it's driving me just a little crazy!

Accordingly, the January update will be a little late, watch for it on the 5th instead of the 1st.

Visual input

Over the Christmas holidays I will be giving the Wing OPS site a facelift. Does anyone have any suggestions, or feedback about things they don't like? Now would be an excellent time to speak up!

Anyone else out there descended from the BAKERs of Wing? I'd love to hear from you, or indeed anyone else out there who might have a lead for me as to where James (married in Wing 1765), George (fathered a child in Wing 1773) or John (married in Wing 1776) might have been from originally.

Yet another family that appeared to arrive in the parish in the mid 1700s - unless there is a connection to the Bakers of the 1600s that is not apparent from the parish registers which has basically nothing after a baptism in 1673 all the way through to James "of Wing" marrying in 1765.

The Wing One Place Study was mentioned in an article in Your Family Tree magazine! Yup, all the way at the end of the article on Local Research Websites in the November 2006 issue you will find me, one of the runners-up to the top 10 one place study websites. I'm very happy :)

Now to add more information, maybe overhaul the look of the site, and make sure I make the top 10 in any future list!
