The 1911 census website is officially live!
www.1911census.co.uk
This DOES include Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, so you will be able to locate and download the household pages for your Wing families. If you are searching for a common name, it's a good idea to use their advanced search as you can put down another name that should be in the same household - and hopefully there will be at least one forename in the family which is unusual enough that you can be sure you are paying for the correct entry. I wouldn't have been able to locate my Hughes, Hall and White entries in London without that feature! For your reference, the Residential Place is Wing, the District is Leighton Buzzard and the County is Bedfordshire - you won't find your Wing residents if you include Buckinghamshire in your search parameters.
I won't be transcribing the Wing entries for the One Place Study website any time soon. There's two main reasons for this. Firstly the financial cost of downloading each individual household at £3.60 each is completely prohibitive (especially once that's converted into NZ dollar purchasing power). Secondly, the infirmity information is not going to be available until 1 January 2012, so I'd have to go back and redownload and repay to get that final piece of information.
Try not to crash their server, and please do let me know what you find out about your Wing families!

Hey, I'm here from the Genea-Blogger's group on Facebook.
I've downloaded a few of the 1911 census forms (for ancestors in Shropshire), but will have to wait for the Welsh ones. Plus there's the whole expense of it all... I'm hoping it'll soon be available on Ancestry.
Hi Nikki-ann - Apparently Ancestry has said this won't be till sometime in 2011, due to the way the licencing works. I also have an Ancestry subscription so I'll be waiting not-so-patiently along with you.
